Blue Jays vs DiamondbacksBlue Jays vs Diamondbacks
06.17.25
Toronto, ON
I've been to the Skydome a few times for concerts, but this was actually my first time catching a Jays game at the dome, having had to scoot over to Toronto for an errand (retrieving my AirPods I lost on the day of the Kendrick show a few days earlier). Funny that my "hometown" ballpark is my fourth ballpark visited overall, having made it to games in Seattle, San Francisco, and Phoenix last year. Also odd that I have seen the Jays play the Diamondbacks, a NL team they only play once a year, both last year in Phoenix and now in Toronto.
I got there pretty early to take in the views from inside the stadium. I could stare at the CN Tower and the Toronto skyline all day, especially on a day like this with the roof open, the sun shining, and a light breeze blowing through the upper bowl. It truly makes you feel small; the scale of everything in Toronto is just so massive, and the Skydome is a big part of that.
I did not partake in the Loonie Dog Tuesday festivities of the day, but I'm sure I will have many more opportunities to do so in the future. It surprised me just how full the dome was for a Tuesday game, but I guess the Loonie Dogs helped, combined with summer being just around the corner, if not already here. There were tons of groups of students at the game.
This was a 5-4 comeback walk-off win for the Jays, with a solo shot from Bo Bichette tying it up in the bottom of the ninth, and another solo shot from Addison Barger winning it. Electric stuff! Yet another case where it pays off to stick around until the very end.
